I am an artist living in rural Maine. My preferred mediums are watercolor, acrylic gouache, and occasionally oils. With a style rooted in nature, my work is precise, colorful, and often a bit whimsical. My sunny studio is attached to a 200 year-old farm house overlooking the Sheepscot River where I’ve lived for the past 35 years.

When not painting I can be found knitting, gardening or walking our dog along the river. I have hand knit over 300 pairs of mittens from my own pattern designs.

Patterns are available on Ravelry. https://www.ravelry.com/designers/genevieve-monks-keller

Previously, I taught Visual Arts with National Board Certification at the Elementary and Middle School levels here in Maine. I am a graduate of the Putney School in Vermont and I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Drawing and Painting from California College of the Arts. Additional education includes Continuing Ed at RISD, various painting workshops, and past memberships in GNSI, and NESCBWI.

★ Note: I do not have a mailing list or newsletter. This site is where to find me.

★ On social media I am known as Snow-Day Artist. Why? - when I taught visual arts, snow days were when I could work in my studio. I hung onto the name because I still love snow days!
